Southern American Realism

While going through my photos in the transition to the Scottsdale gallery.......I found this photo I had forgotten about. This was where I first saw Moses ("The Veteran") in front of an old feed store in a row of theater chairs. I had no sketch pad or camera at this siting and went back to find him the next day. My friend took me to his home and that's where I painted "The Veteran". Before that came about, I wanted to re- create where I first saw him and did this quick study and then went on to paint the final painting which was a year in the painting of. It belongs to a collector in Nashville. I know not who, but had forgotten about taking this photo before it was sold. Brings back a lot of memories. The only study I did of him.
