Southern American Realism

This was a commisioned piece. The client wanted to focus on his hand holding his niece's hand. Fearing if we painted her complete face, it would turn into more of a portrait and you would lose focus on the hand......we decided to do it this way....seeing just enough of her face and that would lead the viewer's eye right to the hands. I think we accomplished it as the holding hands remain the primary focus of the tempra.
